(1) Daryl Younker says:

In the “turn” phrasal examples, I think the “turn out the light” BEFORE you leave is misleading—you would be standing in the dark. Turn it off WHEN you leave.

(2) Raphita Tobing says:

I agree with Daryl Younker. You can say : Turn off/Switch off the TV BEFORE you leave, or Turn off the oven BEFORE you leave but it’s more appropriate to say Turn off the light WHEN you leave.

i have two doubts
1) about ” turn out the light before you leave”. i guess “turn off the light/lights” is correct.

2) its from “phrasal verbs with take”
the question was ….. his took over the company with 400,000 shares…
i think it should be “he took over ……..

Hello!

I was looking over your materials and saw many excellent ideas that I would like to implement into our ESL courses that we are going to offer free to our community. Are these materials reproducible? Please advise. I want to make sure that I follow proper procedure. Thank you so much and take care!
Sincerely,
Sukie
