Videos on the Site!
Thursday April 2, 2009
I'm pleased as punch (idiom = very, very happy!) to announce that learning videos have come to the site. The first two videos focus on introducing yourself and asking questions. Each video features Ellen Quish from the Adult Learning Center at LaGuardia Community College in New York City for About.com, and her student Alejandro. A transcript is provided with each video to help with understanding and key phrases.

Dear Kenneth:
I think it is not a good practice to make english videos including people who are learning english or has a broken English. Doing this way there is not value included in the video to help people who are eager to capture real english sounds. if during our life we have chace to talk others english learner is other story but for learning process I believe it is better to have the videos with native people speaking an undersatndable english.
Thank you

Great idea!!! A simple conversions means lot of knowledge to know using Wh words…
This is extremely helpful. As an ESL teacher/trainer, having these videos as part of my lessons makes my life definitely easier. It is also beneficial to learners as they can relate to real people learning English. Thanks a million!
I wonder if it would be possible to make the video so they are talking without reading the script? That way it is a more natural conversation.
Excellent very helpful work. I always ask my students to learn from about.com and get the information themselves without depening totally on me.
I couldn`t hear the video….I had some problems to do it. Help me please
Hi,
Thank you. This is a good idea and action and it would be better if these conversations took place in a more suitable place with less reverbration of sound that could make discrimination of speech easier.
Regards,
Mina
