Dialogues for Practice and Comprehension

These eight lower-intermediate dialogues provide role play practice as well as reading comprehension practice on specific grammar points. Each dialogue is also followed by a multiple choice comprehension quiz.

What Were You Doing? - Use of the past continuous in combination with the past simple

I like reading at esl.about.com the articles on this website are very supportive in building up my english proficiency. I’m reading the articles at esl.about.com for the last 2 months, As I’m an Indian and very new to Canada. I find everything at about.com related to study englsih at advance level. I only want the American way of english speaking. so I want u to display some American slangs so i could learn some slangs used in daily life

These are wonderful examples of short dialogues. I use them with the 2 students doing the dialogue and the others listening and answering the questions. The “actors” have to put down the dialogues and tell the students if their answers are correct or not (comprehension). The students really like doing these dialogues.

this website is great, i feel it’s the best of all, so laarge, u can find everything about. 90% of time I’m in front of a class i display this website to my students and recommend to use it. this dialogues are a great tool for ESL learners to use the language. I really appreciate ABOUT.COM personnel’s effort to assist us in our learning and teaching.
