Help Customers - Service Industry Dialogues

Here are three dialogues which will be helpful for those learning English to work in the service industry. Each dialogue contains key vocabulary to the industry and has a follow-up multiple choice comprehension quiz.

  • Cleaning Staff - Vocabulary and requests dealing with cleaning rooms and taking care of guests
  • A Drink at the Bar - Vocabulary and situations related to serving customers at a bar
  • Taking an Order - Vocabulary and situations related to serving customers in a restaurant

Hi Ken, how about responding something else but still regarding service, customer, etc. for example: how to respond a customer who is looking for an appartment closeby. The customer’s query is already a week ago, but I’d like to respond to the customer to find him the appartment he needs

ken, the whole site About.com is great, I’ve been an ESL for 8 years in monterrey, mexico and usually ask my students to solve your quizzes on line, they love to do it, every activity is so useful. i like the whole site activities. My peers already know about you and love this web site as well.

I went in a very remote area and i never got a chance to learn good english because many teachers never interested in teaching in rural areas.Now i can learn what i missed in my childhood from your site.
