Is the following sentence correct?

My dog is so faithful. He'll go anywhere I ask him to go.

Generally, English does not have gender. All objects are 'it'. Animals can be a bit difficult. This use of gender in English can sometimes be a bit confusing. Generally, we use 'it' with wild animals. However, our pets and some other objects such as cars, boats and nations sometimes also take a personal pronoun.
