The US presidential election is coming in November, 2012. The candidates have been chosen: The current (incumbent) president Barack Obama and the challenger Mitt Romney. The process of choosing a president is complicated in the US. This presidential elections reading selection explains some of the basics. It's a great read for English learners. Teachers can print out the reading and the quiz and share with classes. English learners can read it online and take the follow-up quiz to test understanding. There's also an elections dialogue that will help students explore and practice related vocabulary.
