Telling Others What You've Heard

By November 5, 2012

Follow me on:

Use reported speech when telling others information you've heard from others. For example:

"Angela is going to visit us next week"
Peter told me that Angela was going to visit them the following week.

Notice how the conjugation is put one step into the past, the pronouns are changed, as well as the time expression. These are all changes used in the reported speech. Review the reported speech and then take the reported speech quiz to check your understanding. Teachers can print out the printable version of the reported speech quiz for use in class.
