Meetup.com has a great idea: Use the Internet to help groups of people from around the world to meet and discuss their favorite ideas. They have a page dedicated to English as a Second Language groups (there are more than 200!) around the world. Some of the groups have a number of participants, while others are smaller. It's a great idea that I hope does well.
