Guide Review - Book

"The Twisted Doors" takes a short story as the departure point for language learning through the exploration of the text. The text is presented in both Spanish or French and English in line by line translations. Grammar and vocabulary explanations and exercises accompany the text and progress in a well planned manner from easier to more difficult concepts. The package was designed for native English speakers wanting to learn French or Spanish and is excellent for this purpose. However, "The Twisted Doors" can also be used in reverse: Spanish or French native speakers can improve their English by following the exercises in reverse. The story is engaging and the language used for explanations and exercises is easy enough for intermediate level learners. "The Twisted Doors" is an original approach to language learning, and, for motivated learners, will reward any student who is willing to make the extra effort of doing the exercises in reverse.
