bark is worse than one`s bite

Definition: someone isn`t as bad as they sound; someone appears to be worse than they are

Explanation: Used when reassuring someone else that another person isn't as bad as the first impression he/she may make.

Examples: Don't let her bother you, her bark is worse than her bite. - I soon found out that my new boss' bark was worse than his bite.
