Definition: by the most direct way; along a straight line between two places

Explanation: Used to say that a certain way is the fastest or most direct way of getting to another place

Examples: It takes about four hours as the crow flies. - It's about 20 miles as the crow flies. Unfortunately, it's not so easy to get there and you have to take a detour.
