The Body - Heads and Shoulders

Here are the principal definitions of each word with an example sentence using the target word in context.

chin part of the face below the mouth He grew a goatee on his chin.
cheek part of the face located next to the mouth on either side of the mouth Her cheeks with red with the cold of the autumn day.
ear part of the body used for hearing You either need to clean your ears or pay more attention in class because you haven't heard a thing I've said.
eye organ used for seeing His blue eyes twinkled in the sunlight.
eyebrow arch of hairs located above the eyes on the forehead He raised his right eyebrow in a questioning gesture.
eyelash hairs located on the eyelid directly above the eye Many women use special makeup to make their eyelashes look longer.
forehead upper part of the face above the eyes He wrinkled his forehead as he tried to understand the page in front of him.
hair substance in strands which grows from the scalp He combed his hair over his eyes.
head uppermost part of the body He put his cap onto his head and left the room.
lip rounded flesh surrounding the mouth You have to be very careful that you don't crack your lips in extremely cold weather.
mouth oral opening Don't put that coin into your mouth!
neck part of the body between the shoulders and the head The model had a beautiful slender neck.
nose part of the body used for smelling located in the middle of the face Many people have their noses adjusted by plastic surgery these days.
nostril opening of the nasal passage His cold was so bad that one nostril was completely blocked.
jaw lower part of the face that moves while talking or chewing He hard a hard time moving his jaw after the boxing match.
shoulder part of the body located below the neck and at the top of the arm He moved his shoulders in a rotating motion to relax his muscles.
tooth (teeth) piece of bone in the mouth used for eating You should brush your teeth at least twice a day.
tongue flexible organ located in the mouth that provides taste To pronounce 'th' move the tip of the tongue between your front teeth.
throat like neck, located inside the body Take lots of vitamin C if you have a sore throat.
