The Body - Legs and Feet

Here are the principal definitions of each word with an example sentence using the target word in context.

ankle area and joint located at the bottom of the leg where the foot begins He fell and sprained his ankle during the race and couldn't walk for three weeks.
calf lower back part of the leg Jogging will make your calves very muscular.
foot (feet) part of the body located at the end of the leg on which one stands He had a huge foot - size 52!
heel back part of the foot When jogging, your heel should be the first part of the foot to touch the ground.
hips part of the body which connects the pelvis to the upper legs Elvis Presley was famous for his rotating hips, he was called "Elvis the Pelvis".
knee joint in the middle of the leg If you rollerblade, you should always wear pads protecting your knees.
leg lower limb of the body His legs were really long giving him the appearance of a graceful animal.
shin front part of the lower leg I banged my shin on the table. It really hurts!
thigh upper part of the leg Too many potato chips can cause fat thighs!
toe digit, extension on the foot Many people have a difficult time moving single toes, they can only move their toes as a group.
big toe little toe the largest and smallest toe on a foot I stubbed my big toe on the door.
toenail hard growth at the end of the toe She painted her toenails green!
