Yes, all English vowels have (at least) short and long forms (there are more than two choices for most of them).

short a: cat, hat, ham long a: hate, male, same

short e: hem, led, met long e: he, free, peel

short i: hit, bid, limb long i: tight, write, time

short o: cot, on, knob long o: wrote, hope, comb

short u: mutt, hum, cub long u: human, cute, use
