Teaching English abroad is a wonderful opportunity for many English teachers to travel and see the world. Of course, teaching English is a profession and the treatment of English teachers from contractual to cultural can vary greatly from country to country. These shared experiences will help teachers get insight into what might await them in various locations. Please make sure to provide the country and city where you taught. It's probably best not to include the name of the institution, as the purpose of this resource is to provide a general indication of conditions rather than an indictment of specific schools. My Modest Experience in Teaching English

I´ve been teaching English as a foreign language in Cuba for more than 38 years, first in schools for adults and then counseling Primary, Secondary and Preuniversity teaching. In methodology we have dealt with and moved from structural to communicative and interactive approach. English is very much studied here. It has been a wonderful experience. Pepe

Teachin English in Colombia

I had the opportunity to teach English to several group of people in Colombia and was a very rewarding experience. That is the main reason why I like to obtain my EFL certification here in the States.

My experience as a teacher in Argentina

I've been a teacher of English for 22 years. A lot of people learn English here in Argentina. I teach for a private institute in Bs. As. and also a public school. Our children learn English at school, private or public ones, since they are at primary school and most of them have a good level of English. In my opinion, not only our students get advantage or a foreign language for future jobs, but also to get in touch and understand things of personal interests (for example music, the net, games, etc.) I've grown a lot since my first experience of teaching: English has opened my mind in different ways and has helped me in my professional development. I hope it will help my students in the same way.
