Literary Devices - Terms and Examples

By December 17, 2012

Follow me on:

Advanced English learners - especially those interested in using English in academic settings - need to be able to discuss and use a wide range of literary devices. To help gain a better understanding of these devices use this guide to literary terms for English learners providing definitions and short examples. There's also an introduction to poetry, as well as a list of onomatopoeia - words that express sounds people and things make that sound like the action itself.
