SoZiety - practice your English with others worldwide via Skype

Wednesday May 23, 2007
SoZiety is an interesting new company in Europe that takes full advantage of Skype for language learning. It's a simple concept, but very effective. SoZiety keeps a database of users with their native language and the language they would like to learn. It also keeps track of user interests. Everyone wants to learn and practice, so it's easy to find others to practice English, or native speakers to help you in exchange for help with your native language. If you'd like to work on your spoken English, this is an easy and free way to do so.

Here's some help to get you ready:

Skype is great. I’m a native English speaker but love to meet people on KanTalk.com (a site similar to SoZiety) and travel the world on my laptop.

Practice is spelled with a “c” whether used as a noun or a verb in the United States. I believe it is spelled “practise” in the U.K., but not sure.
